There has been considerable discussion recently concerning theabove and I have been made aware of several efforts to draftappropriate specifications. I believe our current specificationsadequately address the results expected from the use of truckcovers and, as such, are sufficient for their intended purpose.The Department is accepting asphalt concrete, not truck covers.If inspection of the asphalt concrete reveals any of thefollowing, the load may be rejected:
	temperature out of tolerance contamination evidenceof moisture/puddling water, etc non-uniform mix/crusting
If it is felt an inappropriate truck cover contributed to thisrejection, the Contractor is to be advised that correctivemeasures will have to be taken to avoid rejection of subsequentloads and that each load will be reviewed accordingly. Yourcontinued cooperation in this matter is appreciated.
