Beginning with the September, 1995 advertisement, payment forlatex and silica fume hydraulic cement concrete will be changedfrom its existing pay item (latex or silica fume) hydrauliccement concrete to furnishing (latex or silica fume) hydrauliccement concrete having a pay unit of cubic yard and placing(latex or silica fume) hydraulic cement concrete having a payunit of square yard.
Measurement for determining the cubic yard quantity forfurnishing latex hydraulic cement concrete when produced by batchmixers will be by truck tickets, assuming a 95 percent yield.When produced by automatic mobile mixers, measurement willcontinue to be by metered tickets. Measurement for furnishingsilica fume will be by truck tickets, also assuming a 95 percentyield.
Reductions in quantity for both latex and silica fumehydraulic cement concrete are to be made for any volume used atthe Contractor's option in lieu of hydraulic cement concrete usedin deck repairs, for any unnecessary overruns such as over depthmilling, and for any waste. In addition, the Contractor andinspector will mutually agree to the quantity of silica fumehydraulic cement concrete remaining in the last truck fornonpayment.
Placing (latex or silica fume) hydraulic cement concrete willbe measured and paid for in square yards on a plan quantitybasis, in accordance with Section 109.02 of the Specifications,and will be full compensation for placing, finishing and curingthe concrete.
