Beginning with the August, 1996 Advertisement, the followingcopied note will be used in contracts with traffic barrierservice: | |
| Section 512.04 - Measurement and Payment of the Specificationsis amended to delete the last sentence of the seventh paragraphincluding subsentences "1." and "2.". | |
| This copied note eliminates the current requirement of payingfor traffic barrier service in two increments of 65% and 35% whenplaced and removed, respectively. Barrier will be paid for onceit is placed and work behind the barrier is actively pursued. | |
| If the contractor does not remove traffic barrier serviceafter written notification that it is no longer needed , one ormore of the following actions may be taken: | |
1.) Remove the affected quantity of barrier from the monthlyprogress estimate. | |
2.) Withhold monthly progress estimate in accordance withSection 109.07 of the Specifications. | |
| 3.) Remove barrier with State Forces after written notice inaccordance with Section 104.04 of the Specifications. | |
| Elimination of barrier payment in two increments will reducediary entries and transactions in the workbook, as well as reducepossible errors in quantities. Therefore, upon receipt of thismemorandum, you may elect to pay for barrier in accordance withthis copied note on contracts that do not contain the copiednote. | |
