| The attached Special Provision Copied Note for Section 106.01,Source of Supply and Quality Requirements, is being issued forall contracts beginning with the October advertisement. To assureuniformity and consistency of procedure in administration, and toprovide necessary materials inspection, test reports,certifications, and other required documentation, thisinformation is to be received in the Central Office MaterialsDivision within 10 working days of its receipt by the Residencyinvolved. The use of date stamping is strongly encouraged tofacilitate tracking. | |
| In addition, it is extremely important that project personnelcompare the delivery documents for all materials to the approvedsource of material letters from the Materials Division. As anexample of the problems encountered, in numerous instancespavement marking materials have been found that were supplied bymanufacturers other than those indicated on the approved sourceof materials or with no approved source listed. | |
| If it is found that work is being performed using anymaterials from a non-approved source, such work is to besuspended and payment withheld pending source approval. | |
