New Scenic Roads Map Highlights Virginia’s Beauty
Nearly 3,000 miles of Virginia roads are designated as official Virginia Byways, and an attractive new Map of Scenic Roads in Virginia has been published to show motorists where these roads are. The map’s theme is “Explore Virginia’s Great Scenic Drives.”
If you are interested in a particular region of the state—such as Southern Highlands, Northern Virginia, Capital Country or Alleghany Highlands—you will find directions to many beautiful vistas.
Or if you are interested in Virginia history, you can take scenic routes to and through areas that played critical roles in the development of our commonwealth and the nation.
This edition features trails in the Jamestown area in support of the Quadricentennial events expected to draw extra tourists in 2007 and beyond.
The map shows many interesting and entertaining destinations, from state parks to battlefields to a birding trail. This Bulletin Virtual Visit will give you a taste of some of the visual delights you can experience on Virginia’s scenic roads. Go ahead, take the scenic route.
