Garrett W. Moore was named Northern Virginia District administrator Oct. 15, 2010.
Prior to that, he was district administrator in the Virginia Department of Transportation's Staunton District.
Moore previously held the position of assistant resident engineer in Fredericksburg and resident engineer in Warrenton.
His first career was as an engineer officer in the U.S. Marine Corps from which he retired as a lieutenant colonel.
Education
He holds a bachelor of science in engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s in civil engineering from Virginia Tech. He is a licensed professional engineer.
Organizations
He is active in the Ruritans and his church.
Personal
Originally from Oakland, Calif., he now lives in Warrenton with his wife, Robin. Their daughter, Bonny is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia.
Interests and Hobbies
Sports, business, home improvement projects.
