Applicants must follow the Fairfax County & VDOT street acceptance process to turn secondary roads over to VDOT for maintenance in Fairfax County. 

Developers are responsible for working closely with their Fairfax County Inspector throughout this process.

• VDOT does not accept roadways from developers. Roads are accepted for state maintenance from the local governing body. Contact Fairfax County for information.
