VDOT’s standard road design system is Bentley Geopak Suit with modifications to resource files to meet VDOT standards.. The GEOPAK Implementation History is illustrated by timeline schedules for all phases from contract development to training. Many VDOT employees and consultants have completed various GEOPAK training classes. Classes have been offered in Road Design, Survey, Drainage, Environmental, Basic and Advanced Rebar, Plan preparation and Geotech as well as Follow-Up training. All nine districts have hosted classes and all state roadway projects are currently being designed with this software.
