Standards and Special Design Section Manager
The Standards and Special Design Section is responsible for maintaining and updating the Road and Bridge Standards. In addition, our team provides technical support to Central Office and District staff as well as external customers on improving roadside safety and the use of safety hardware. Our section teaches the Guardrail Installation Training (GRIT) to inspectors and guardrail installers to ensure that the safety hardware systems are installed to best protect the travelling public. Along with our expertise in safety hardware, our section provides special design drainage structures for project specific applications that are beyond the scope of the Standards.
