Southeastern Parkway and Greenbelt
Location: The Southeastern Parkway and Greenbelt (SEPG) study corridor begins at the interchange of Interstates 64 and 464 in Chesapeake, and extends generally east and northeast, around Stumpy Lake, terminating at Interstate 264 east of Oceana Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach.
Schedule:
- Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS): Completed May 27, 2005
- Public Hearings on Draft EIS: July 11 and 13, 2005
- Commonwealth Transportation Board action: Nov. 17, 2005
- Financial Analysis for Dominion Boulevard/US 17 and Southeast Parkway and Greenbelt, prepared for the City of Chesapeake, the City of Virginia Beach and the Virginia Department of Transportation: December 2007.
- Project financial evaluation by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), jointly with Chesapeake and Virginia Beach: planned spring, 2007
- Final EIS - winter 2008
- Record of Decision (ROD): planned spring 2009
- Issue Request for Proposals (RFP) under the Public Private Transportation Act (PPTA): following ROD
Notice: VDOT is evaluating the
environmental study and coordinating a financial evaluation with the
partner localities to better define the possible scope of the RFP
and reduce development risk for potential proposers. Unsolicited
proposals for advancement of the SEPG, or any similar or related
projects such as the Oak Grove Connector and Route 168, under the
PPTA will not be accepted pending the completion of the evaluation
of responses to the planned RFP. Any unsolicited proposals will be
returned to sender.
