Skiffes Creek Connector new document  

Description: The project is located in James City County, Virginia.  The purpose of this project is to create efficient local connectivity between Route 60 (Pocahontas Trail) and Route 143 (Merrimac Trail), in the area between Route 199 and Route 238, in a manner that improves safety, emergency evacuation, and the movement of goods along the two primary roadways.  The Project involves construction of a new two-lane roadway, and includes a bridge at Skiffes Creek, a bridge over CSX Transportation Railroad, and intersection improvements at the two termini.  The Project also includes a multi-use path along eastbound Route 60 from intersection with Green Mount Parkway (Route 774) to the existing bus stop/proposed bus shelter.

Albemarle Intersection Bundling

Description: The project includes six intersection improvement projects in Albemarle County, Virginia. These six projects will be included in a single procurement and will be awarded as a single contract. The projects are I-64 Exit 124 Interchange Improvements, I-64 Exit 118 Partial Cloverleaf Modification, Fontaine Avenue Ramp Improvements at U.S. Route 29 Bypass (NB), U.S. Route 250 and Route 151 Roundabout, Route 20 and Route 649 Roundabout, and Rio Mills Road and Berkmar Drive Connector. Replacement of I-81 Bridges over Rte. 11, Norfolk Southern Railway and Middle Fork Holston River (Design-Build Project)

Description: The project is located along Interstate 81 from 1.96 miles North of Exit 50 to 2.86 miles North of Exit 50 in the City of Atkins and Smyth County.  The project would replace the existing I-81 NB and SB bridges over Rte. 11, Norfolk Southern Railroad and Middle Fork Holston River in the City of Atkins. The primary scope of work includes but is not limited to: Replacing the existing structures along with its approaches; Meeting minimum vertical and horizontal clearances for Norfolk Southern Railway and Rte. 11; Asphalt milling and resurfacing of existing pavement; Utility relocations; Storm drain pipes; and Stormwater management facilities.

Route 7 and Battlefield Parkway Interchange

Project Overview: The project is located in the town of Leesburg, Virginia. The project limits on Route 7 begin at the Leesburg Bypass interchange and extend to the east to the River Creek Parkway interchange for approximately 7,000 feet.

The project limits on Battlefield Parkway begin just north of the bridge over Tuscarora Creek to Potomac Station Drive for approximately 3,500 feet.

The purpose of this project is to improve traffic operations, safety and pedestrian / vehicle flow. It is also to allow Route 7 to function as a limited-access freeway through the town of Leesburg by constructing a new interchange at the Route 7 (East Market Street) intersection with Battlefield Parkway. In addition, the project will improve the signalized intersection of Route 7 and Cardinal Park Drive by constructing a right in / right out with auxiliary lanes and eliminating the traffic signal.
