DESCRIPTION: A state trooper keeps watch over the gates at another exit. In an evacuation, the state police, National Guard and VDOT would station personnel at the gates. All lanes would carry traffic west toward Richmond. It’s envisioned this would happen if a hurricane or other event threatened Hampton Roads.
