The Virginia Department of Transportation and the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation created this Web site to provide easy access to past marketing research studies. Here you can find many of the most recent marketing research studies conducted by Virginia's transportation industry on topics ranging from car and vanpooling to HOV lanes to telecommuting to congestion mitigation.
While all of these individual research studies were conducted for a specific situation or event, the knowledge obtained from each study may be of help to transportation planners, Transportation Demand Management professionals, and transportation-related organizations in understanding and managing similar issues and related opportunities.
To this end, this site provides easy access to studies by topic, key words, region, and date of study. Executive summaries of each study are also provided, as well as "overview" white papers on what we have learned by topic area.
