Core Development Program: Business Associates

Associates in our business track enter a comprehensive program, specializing in business and financial analysis or systems or industrial engineering, while cross training in the core business functions of the agency. 

The Core Development Program gives associates hands-on job assignments and the opportunity to work closely with a diverse group of professionals.  

Example assignments include: 

• Development of unit costs for use in make-buy decisions
  
  
• Work with Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) teams to identify data needs for development of performance measures
  
  
• Work with financial management systems to monitor and analyze expenditures and develop reports
  
  
• Work with VDOT personnel to identify projects eligible for federal funding and follow projects through development and programming processes
