VDOT SUSPENDS LANE CLOSURES FOR HOLIDAYS
RICHMOND – To help ease Fourth of July holiday weekend travel, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will not permit temporary lane closures on major highways from noon Thursday, July 3, until noon Monday, July 7. Long-term construction zones with concrete barriers and orange barrels will remain in place.

FINAL SIX-YEAR TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM APPROVED
$10.1 billion program for public transportation, rail and highway projects
RICHMOND – The Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) today approved a $10.1 billion six-year transportation funding program for public transportation, rail and highway projects for the next six fiscal years, beginning July 1. The program reflects significant reductions stemming from a $1.1 billion funding shortfall over the next six years.

Web Site Shows Plan To Be Voted On Next Week
RICHMOND — The Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTB) will vote on Virginia’s 2009-2014 Six-Year Transportation Improvement Program at its June 19 meeting in Richmond. In advance of that meeting, the final draft of the Fiscal Year 2009-2014 Six-Year Improvement Program has been posted on the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Web site this afternoon for public review.
