TRANSPORTATION PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITY FUND COMMENT PERIOD EXTENDED
RICHMOND – The comment period for the Virginia Transportation Partnership Opportunity Fund has been extended to Aug. 31, 2005. The fund is to be used by Virginia’s governor to encourage the development of transportation projects through the design-build provisions of the Code of Virginia and pursuant to the Public-Private Transportation Act of 1995. The governor may also use the fund to provide monies to address the transportation aspects of economic development opportunities.
The draft implementation guidelines and an assistance application are posted on the Virginia Department of Transportation Web site at http://www.virginiadot.org/projects/tpof.asp for public review and comment. The review and comment period was to end on Friday, Aug. 19, but has been extended until the end of the month to allow more time for feedback.
