The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has upgraded its 511 real-time traffic information system. This includes implementing a new video distribution system, so traffic video is accessible to more media outlets.

In an effort to upgrade these services, VDOT has implemented a new video distribution system through Iteris Inc.  

This new system offers media outlets several options for receiving live video and data feeds.

On March 1, 2012, VDOT held an initial information session to provide the opportunity for media outlets to gain a clear understanding of options, review the subscription agreements, see examples of the actual video, meet Iteris staff and ask questions.
