Two highway contracts valued at $794,509 approved for southwestern Virginia

RICHMOND – Two highway contracts valued at approximately $794,509 were recently awarded in the Bristol District of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).  The Bristol District consists of 12 counties in southwestern Virginia:  Washington, Smyth, Lee, Scott, Russell, Buchanan, Tazewell, Bland, Wise, Dickenson, Grayson, and Wythe.

Patrick Construction, Inc., St. Paul, received a $470,538 contract to replace the Route 714 (Apple Orchard Road) bridge over Possum Creek in Scott County.  The new bridge will replace a one-lane truss timber deck bridge.  

Lastly, a $323,971 contract was awarded to C.L. Dale Construction Services, LLC, Lebanon, to widen 1.5-miles of Route 656 (Roaring Fork Road) in the Hazel Mountain community of Dickenson County.    (END)
