Hockman Pike project in Bluefield approved by transportation board

RICHMOND – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) recently awarded a $2 million highway contract for a project in Bluefield.

W.C. English, Inc., Lynchburg, was awarded the contract that will re-align a section of Hockman Pike, removing the bridge over Bluestone River.

Hockman Pike carries around 2,000 vehicles per day.  The purpose of the project is to remove the bridge that is in the flood plain by relocating a .54-mile section of Hockman Pike to a new alignment.
