Transportation board approves $2.8 million for Bristol District, multi-district signal contract also approved
RICHMOND – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) recently awarded 2 highway contracts valued at approximately $2.8 million for the Bristol District. The Bristol District consists of 12 counties in southwestern Virginia: Washington, Smyth, Lee, Scott, Russell, Buchanan, Tazewell, Bland, Wise, Dickenson, Grayson, and Wythe.
W-L Construction, Inc., Chilhowie, received a $1.6 million contract to pave various routes in Wise and Dickenson counties.
A $1.2 million contract was awarded to Patrick Construction, St. Paul, to improve a section of Route 631 and to construct a bridge to connect Routes 631 and 621 in Dickenson County.
Additionally, Richardson-Wayland Electrical Co., Roanoke, received an $8 million contract to serve as the on-call traffic signal contractor for VDOT’s Bristol, Salem and Lynchburg transportation districts.
