Design public hearing scheduled for Route 158 (East Front Street) in Wise County
Tuesday, August 26 from 5-7 p.m. at Eastide High School in Coeburn
BRISTOL - The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a design public hearing this month to show plans for a proposed bridge replacement project on Route 158 (East Front Street) in Wise County.
The public hearing will be held Tuesday, August 26 from 5-7 p.m. at Eastside High School, 314 Schoolhouse Drive NE, Coeburn, Virginia 24230. In the event of inclement weather, the alternate date for the public meeting is September 4 from 5-7 p.m. at the same location.
The purpose of the meeting is to give citizens an opportunity to review and discuss plans for a proposed replacement of the bridge located over Tom’s Creek at the intersection of Route 72.
VDOT encourages all interested citizens to attend the public hearing. To give citizens more flexibility in their participation, there will be no formal presentation. Instead, citizens will be able to review maps, drawings and other materials explaining the proposed project and discuss the plans with VDOT representatives at their convenience anytime between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Also, citizens will have an opportunity to record verbal comments for the official record anytime during the meeting. Written comments will be accepted during the meeting or may be submitted to VDOT by September 15, 2014.
Maps and other materials pertaining to the project are available for review at the VDOT Bristol District Office, 870 Bonham Road, Bristol, Virginia.
