Route 700 (Boggs Hollow Road) bridge repairs in Pound to be completed in September

BRISTOL — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will replace the Route 700 (Boggs Hollow Road) bridge over the South Fork of the Pound River in the town of Pound in the coming weeks.

The replacement project is scheduled for September 9 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., closing the bridge to traffic for that day only.

A shuttle service will be provided for Route 700 residents between their homes and the bridge from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. September 9. There will be pedestrian access only across the bridge during the replacement project and parking on the Route 671 side of the bridge will be made available for residents.

Motorists should be alert to message boards in the area providing information regarding the closure.  Residents along Route 700 will receive more information in the coming days regarding logistics for the closure.
