Deadline extended for exhibitors to participate in transportation career fair for high school students
BRISTOL – The Virginia Department of Transportation’s (VDOT) Bristol District has extended the deadline for exhibitors and schools to sign-up for its first transportation career fair for high school students.
Deadline for registration is now September 23.
The October 1 career fair will offer area high school students a wide variety of information regarding careers in transportation such as civil engineering, accounting, emergency response, architecture, technology, construction, environmental engineering and other disciplines.
In addition to inviting students to attend the fair, VDOT also extends an invitation to transportation-related organizations and firms to exhibit at the event. Participation is free and firms will have the opportunity to meet local VDOT leadership and decision-makers.
The October 1 fair will be held from 9 a.m. until noon at Southwest Higher Education Center, located at One Partnership Circle in Abingdon.

High school groups should register with Dr. Wendell Point at email@example.com or (540) 847-8935. The Bristol District consists of 12 counties in southwestern Virginia: Washington, Smyth, Lee, Scott, Russell, Buchanan, Tazewell, Bland, Wise, Dickenson, Grayson, and Wythe.
