CULPEPER – A crash involving a school bus has closed U.S. Route 17 southbound approximately five miles north of Warrenton. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has established a detour around the crash by routing southbound traffic onto the northbound lanes between Route 698 and Route 699. The road is expected to be closed for an extended period. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes and to expect significant travel delays on Route 17 between Warrenton and Marshall.
