EXPECT EVENING LANE CLOSURES THIS WEEK ALONG EAST RIO ROAD
Tree-clearing planned Wednesday through Friday from 7:30 p.m. to dark

CULPEPER – Traffic along East Rio Road will be restricted to one lane during several evenings this week to while trees are being removed along the right of way. The work, between the Norfolk Southern railroad bridge and Dunlora Drive, is being done in preparation for the relocation of East Rio Road as part of the Meadowcreek Parkway project.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane controlled by flaggers during the work, which will be done Wednesday through Friday between 7:30 p.m. and dark. Traffic on East Rio Road will be stopped completely for brief periods while trees are being felled to ensure the safety of motorists.

Motorists should expect delays along East Rio Road while the tree work and clearing is being done. Motorists can assist in minimizing travel delays by obeying all signs and using extra caution as they approach the work zone.  For real-time information about traffic and weather conditions, dial 511 from any phone in Virginia or visit www.VirginiaDOT.org.
