I-64 WEST CLOSED NEAR CHARLOTTESVILLE
Overturned tractor-trailer blocking both lanes; detour in place

CULPEPER – An overturned tractor-trailer truck is blocking Interstate 64 westbound at the 121.6 milepost just south of Charlottesville. The crash happened just before 3 a.m. Emergency responders on the scene are working to unload the truck’s cargo but it’s not known at this hour how long the highway will be closed.

Westbound traffic is being detoured off I-64 onto Route 250 at exit 124, taking Route 250 and the 29/250 bypass west around Charlottesville, then back onto I-64 at exit 118.

For real-time information and updates about this incident, traffic conditions and weather dial 511 from any telephone in Virginia. Before you leave check 511 on the Web at www.511Virginia.org. Information includes traffic conditions, weather forecasts and live traffic cameras on many major highways, including I-64 and Route 29 in the Charlottesville area.
