ROUTE 690 IN FLUVANNA TO CLOSE FOR RAIL CROSSING WORK
Three at-grade crossings will be rebuilt during work scheduled July 27-30

CULPEPER — Route 690 in Fluvanna County will be closed to through traffic from July 27 through July 30 for improvements to three at-grade railroad crossings. The road will be closed at 7 a.m. on the 27th and will reopen by midnight on July 30. The repair work will be done by CSX Railroad to crossings for the main rail line, a spur that serves the CSX maintenance yard and a siding that also crosses the road.

Route 690 will be closed at its intersection with Route 6 on the Fluvanna County side. There are no entrances onto Route 690 between the intersection and the railroad crossing so local traffic should not be affected. In Cumberland County a similar closure will be maintained during the crossing work; traffic on that side should follow posted detours.
