BRIDGE ON RT. 633 IN ALBEMARLE CO. TO BE CLOSED JUNE 1
One-day closure will not affect school bus routes
CULPEPER — The bridge over Jumping Branch on Route 633 (Cove Garden Road) in Albemarle County will be closed on Wednesday, June 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for a repair project. The daytime closure will not affect school bus traffic.
The bridge is located near the intersection of Route 633 and Route 712 (Plank Road). Both roads will be closed at this intersection during the work period. Route 633 will remain accessible from Route 29 at its opposite end. A detour will be posted for Route 712, guiding motorists to Route 29, then to Route 708 (Red Hill Road), right on Route 631 (Old Lynchburg Road) and back onto Route 633.
During the work period, a crew from the Virginia Department of Transportation will replace the superstructure of the concrete bridge, using a crane to lift the new bridge deck into place. The bridge will re-open Wednesday afternoon.
