ROAD WORK TO AFFECT TRAFFIC ON ROUTES 642, 670 IN MADISON
VDOT will perform pipe replacement, paving early next week
CULPEPER — Two road maintenance projects will affect traffic in the Criglersville area of Madison County early next week.
On Dec. 3 and 4 Virginia Department of Transportation contractor General Excavation, Inc. will replace a drainage pipe that runs under Route 642 (Poor House Road) approximately 1.3 miles north of Route 670 (Old Blue Ridge Turnpike). The work requires closing the road to through traffic from Route 670 to Route 231 (N. Blue Ridge Turnpike). Local traffic will be able to access entrances on both sides of the pipe.
On Dec. 3 VDOT contractor Kickin’ Asphalt Paving & Sealing LLC will mill and pave the portion of Route 670 that was the site of recent riverbank stabilization work. Flagging will occur from approximately 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Motorists should expect minor delays.
