ROUTE 29 CLOSED AT WOODBROOK DRIVE DUE TO GAS LEAK
Motorists advised to avoid intersection, use alternate route

CULPEPER — Route 29 (Seminole Trail) is closed at Route 1417 (Woodbrook Drive) in Albemarle County due to a gas leak in the median.

The Virginia Department of Transportation is assisting with traffic control and is setting up message boards along Route 29 and Interstate 64 to alert the traveling public of the closure.

Motorists are advised to avoid the intersection and use an alternate route. Local traffic that must travel in the vicinity of Route 29 should expect significant delays.

At this time there is no estimated time for repairs to be complete, but motorists should be aware this may be a lengthy closure.

Real-time road conditions and weather forecasts are available on VDOT’s traffic and travel Web site, www.511Virginia.org. The site also has live traffic camera images for many major highways, including Interstate 64, I-66 and Routes 29 and 250 in Central Virginia. Motorists can call 511 from any telephone in Virginia for road and traffic conditions on all major highways in the state. Call 1-800-367-7623 24 hours a day to report highway-related problems or request information about Virginia’s highways.
