RT. 655 IN FAUQUIER CO. TO CLOSE COMPLETELY JUNE 10
Tinpot Run bridge replacement project to continue until Nov. 12

CULPEPER — Beginning June 10, Route 655 (Tinpot Run Lane) in Fauquier County will be closed from Route 651 (Sumerduck Road) to Route 1201 (Lucky Hill Road).

The closure is necessary to continue work on the Tinpot Run bridge replacement project, which began in early March. Thus far the road closure has been partial to allow the entrance from Route 655 to the Riverton community to remain open.

Message boards will be placed near the work zone to notify motorists of the closure and related detour.

The project involves replacing the existing Tinpot Run bridge, built in 1960, with a pre-stressed concrete structure that includes a shared-use path for pedestrians and bicyclists. Also included in the project’s scope is the realignment of the intersection of Routes 655 and 1201 to improve safety. Construction is expected to complete on Nov. 12.
