ACCIDENT CLOSES WESTBOUND I-64 IN ALBEMARLE COUNTY

CULPEPER – Westbound Interstate 64 is closed near mile marker 128 in Albemarle County, due to a tractor trailer accident that took place about 11 a.m. Both westbound lanes are expected to remain closed until at least 3:30 this afternoon. Traffic is currently backed up about three miles.

 

Westbound traffic is being detoured off the interstate at exit 129. Drivers will follow Route 616 (Black Cat Road) south and Route 250 west back to the interstate.

 

Real-time road conditions and weather forecasts are available on VDOT’s traffic and travel web site, www.511Virginia.org. The site also has live traffic camera images for many major highways including Interstate 64, I-66 and Routes 29 and 250 in Central Virginia. Motorists can call 511 from any telephone in Virginia for road and traffic conditions on all major highways in the state. Call 800-367-7623 24 hours a day to report highway-related problems or request information about Virginia’s highways.
