3 LANES CLOSED ON RT. 29 NORTH AT FASHION SQUARE
Temporary asphalt patching failed during rain, contractor on site making repairs

CHARLOTTESVILLE — The three right lanes of Route 29 (Seminole Trail) northbound are closed just south of the Rio Road intersection because the rain overnight has caused potholes in the temporary asphalt placed in those lanes during underground utility work. Traffic is moving through the area in the far left northbound lane.

The contractor, Lane-Corman Joint Venture, has responded to the location and is in the process of making repairs to the asphalt surface. Repairs are estimated to take several hours. Motorists traveling north on Route 29 through the area should anticipate congestion and brief delays until repairs are completed and the lanes are reopened.
