MOUNTAIN RUN LAKE RD. TO CLOSE APRIL 6-13
VDOT crews will repair pipe under roadway; motorists will be detoured
CULPEPER — The Virginia Department of Transportation will close a section of Route 719 (Mountain Run Lake Road) in Culpeper County at 8 a.m. Monday, April 6 for a drainage pipe rehabilitation project.
The closure will occur at the main entrance to Mountain Run Lake Park and will extend through Monday, April 13, weather permitting.
During the closure, drivers on Route 719 northbound will be detoured right onto Route 641 (Gibson Mill Road), left onto Route 522 (Sperryville Pike), and then left onto Route 633 (Norman Road), which carries traffic back to Route 719. Southbound motorists will reverse the detour.
Access to all residences will be maintained. Visitors to Mountain Run Lake Park should use Route 633 to reach the secondary park entrance located north of the work area. To support the project, the town of Culpeper will lower the lake’s water level, which will temporarily affect boating access. Lake levels will return to normal after the work is completed.
Message boards are in place to alert motorists of the upcoming closure.
