BRIDGE WORK BEGINS MAY 7 ON RT. 630 IN ORANGE
Motorists advised to use alternate routes during four-week closure

CULPEPER — The Virginia Department of Transportation will close the Route 630 (Matthews Mill Road) bridge over Pamunkey Creek in Orange County for replacement of its superstructure.

The timber deck bridge, located 0.6 mile south of Route 629 (Lahore Road), will be closed to through traffic for about four weeks beginning May 7. Weather permitting, the bridge is expected to reopen to all legal-weight vehicles on June 8.

Motorists are advised to use Route 629 and Route 699 (Marquis Road) to access Route 630.

The Pamunkey Creek bridge carries about 50 vehicles daily.
