Motorists should expect overnight delays on I-95 and Route 1 this week in the Fredericksburg Area
Fredericksburg – Two separate work zones in the Fredericksburg area may cause brief delays for motorists this week. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will be working at the following locations this week:
Route 1 @ Hudgins Road (Spotsylvania Co.)
Tuesday night VDOT will begin work to replace the damage drainage pipe located on Rt. 1 at Hudgins Road (at Shirley Slack Auto Center). Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction between 6 p.m. – 8 a.m.; motorists should be alert to the change in traffic patterns at this location. Crews will be working at this location nightly from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday – Thursday. The project is expected to be complete by the end of December, weather permitting.
· I-95 (Stafford Co.)
Wednesday night power crews will be installing cable across the interstate at mile marker 138 located between Exit 136 (Centreport Pkwy.) and Exit 140 Rt. 630/Stafford). North and southbound traffic will be periodically stopped between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. VDOT will monitor traffic to insure that no major delays occur.
