VDOT TO HOLD PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING FOR THE BRAGG ROAD WIDENING PROJECT
(Construction slated to begin mid- November)
FREDERICKSBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will host an informal public information meeting to announce the start of the Route 639 (Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue) widening project. The meeting will be held on Monday, November 3 from 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Fredericksburg Expo Center. While there will be no formal presentation, citizens are encouraged to come out and view the construction plans and schedule, hear about the project timeline and talk one on one with VDOT officials about the project.
Henderson Construction Company will begin work mid-November to widen Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue from Route 3 to Central Park. Improvements will include the widening of the existing Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue from two lanes to four lanes with a raised concrete median; two new traffic signals; one at Bragg Road and Willis Way (just behind Giant) and another at Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue.
The $6.3 million project is scheduled to be complete by summer of 2011.
