FREDERICKSBURG- On Monday, March 30 the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin work to upgrade the right southbound shoulder to a temporary through travel lane in connection with the widening of Route 17 at Gloucester Point. 

Motorists traveling south on Route 17 will be restricted to one lane in the work zone. However, there will be no lane restrictions between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m.; Monday – Friday and on the weekends.   

It is anticipated that the work will be complete in two weeks.
