(Roads that have been plowed may be slippery)

FREDERICSKSBURG —   VDOT crews will continue to work overnight to plow area secondary routes and subdivision streets.

Crews are finding that many of these routes are snow and ice packed and may require the use of a motor grader to break through the ice. Every effort will be made to make the road passable by pushing off as much snow as possible and applying abrasives to provide traction.   Areas that have been impacted less by this storm have supplied additional equipment, crews and supplies to assist with the area’s snow removal efforts.

VDOT asked for the public’s patience as we work around the clock to clear area roads.

VDOT is working closely with local emergency services personnel to coordinate emergency response efforts.  If there is a medical emergency, call 911 and they will coordinate with VDOT if necessary.

Motorists are reminded that there may be icy conditions on roads that have been plowed.  Use extreme caution when traveling overnight or in the early morning hours.
