Stafford County

·          Route 218 (Butler Road)

Motorists are reminded that Butler Road will be closed between the Ray Grizzle Activity Center and St. Clair Brooks Park entrance until 12 noon today.  The designated detour routes around the work zone are Layhill Road, Primmer House Road and Deacon Road.  The entrances to the park and activity center will be open to traffic.

§          Route 17 @ I-95

Tuesday - Thursday, 8 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on Rt. 17 north and south at the I-95 interchange.  Crews are repairing the structural beams on the I-95 bridge over Rt. 17.  Expect brief delays.

·          Route 1

Wednesday – Thursday, 8 p.m. – 5 a.m.; crews will be milling and paving at various locations of Rt. 1 south between Quantico and Rt. 630.  M0torists will be restricted to one lane in the work zone.

·          Route 3

Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. crews will be mowing at various locations on the eastbound side of Rt. 3 between River Road and the King George C.L.  This is a mobile operation and motorists will be restricted to one lane in the work zone.

Spotsylvania County

§          Interstate 95

Monday, 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on I-95 south at mile marker 123 located just south of Exit 126 (Rt. 1/Spotsylvania).  This is in connection with the ongoing construction on the new Route 608 Bridge over I-95.

Tuesday - Wednesday, 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on I-95 north at mile marker 123 located just south of Exit 126 (Rt. 1/Spotsylvania).  This is in connection with the ongoing construction on the new Route 608 Bridge over I-95.

§          Interstate 95 - continued

Wednesday - Friday, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.; crews will be installing weather stations on the I-95 bridge over the Rappahannock River just south of the Welcome Center. One lane will be closed on southbound I-95 in the work zone.

·          Route 3

Sunday – Friday, 8 p.m. – 5 a.m.; 8 p.m. – 5 a.m.; crews will continue milling and paving on the westbound side of Route 3 from just west of I-95 to Bragg Road will continue this week.  Motorists should be alert to rough, uneven and/or unmarked pavement in this area.  Motorists traveling on Rt. 3 and exiting Central Park via Carl D. Silver Blvd. should be prepared to be periodically detoured around the work zone. Signs, flaggers and/or local law enforcement will direct motorists through and around the work zone. 

·          Route 17

Monday – Tuesday, 8 p.m. – 5 a.m; crews will be milling and paving on Rt. 17 between Rt. 2 nd Rt. 608.  Motorists will be restricted to one lane in the work zone.

 Spotsylvania Towne Centre Entrance

Motorists are reminded to be alert to the change in traffic patterns on Route 3 eastbound between Bragg Road and the entrance to the Spotsylvania Towne Centre.  The continuous right turn lane on Rt. 3 east between Bragg Road and the towne centre entrance will be closed to through traffic.  The right merge lane exiting the towne centre to Rt. 3 east will also be closed.  Towne Centre patrons should use the entrance located on Bragg Road Extended.  Access to businesses located on Rt. 3 east between Bragg Road and the towne centre will be maintained at all times.

·          Route 639 (Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue -Ongoing Construction Project

Motorists should be alert to construction crews and equipment working along the shoulder along Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue.  This is in connection with the project to Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue from two to four lanes between Rt. 3 and the entrance to Central Park. The estimated completion date for this project is summer 2011.

·          Route 608 bridge over I-95 – Ongoing Construction Project

Construction continues on the Rt. 608 bridge over I-95.  Motorists should be alert to construction crews and equipment and changes in traffic patterns in this area.

King George County

·          Route 206

Sunday – Monday, 8 p.m. – 5 a.m.; crews will be paving a 4 mile section of Rt. 206 at Rt. 3.  Motorists will be restricted to one lane in the work zone.

·          Route 205

Monday – Wednesday, 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; crews will be mowing on Rt. 205 between Rt. 3 and the Westmoreland C.L.  This is a mobile operation and motorists should be alert to slow moving equipment.

City of Fredericksburg

·          Hanover Street

Sunday – Saturday, 7 a.m. 5 p.m. - Hanover Street will remain closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic between Princess Anne Street and Caroline Street.  Due to work associated with a repair project at City Hall.

·          Lansdowne Road

Tuesday – Wednesday 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on Lansdowne Road between Rt. 2/17 and the CSX rail crossing.  Crews will be repairing the shoulder in this area.  In the event of rain the work will be completed on Thursday.
