§          Interstate 95

Sunday - Monday, 9 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.; crews will be milling and paving the on and off ramps at the Rt. 1/Spotsylvania (Exit 126) interchange.  Motorists should expect delays and be alert to construction crews and equipment on the interstate ramps.

Tuesday-Thursday, 9 p.m. - 4:30 a.m.; crews will begin milling and paving the southbound lanes on I-95 between Exit 126 (Rt. 1/Spotsylvania) and Exit 118 (Rt. 606/Thornburg).  One lane and the shoulder will be closed to traffic in the work zone.

Monday - Thursday, 10 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.; motorists will be periodically restricted to one lane on I-95 north and south between mile markers 122 – 126 located between Exit 126 (Rt. 1/Spotsylvania) and Exit 118 (Rt. 606/Thornburg).  This is permit work associated with new bridge over I-95 at Rt. 17.

Thursday – 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.; motorists should be alert to crews and equipment on the shoulder of I-95 south at mile marker 123 located between Exit 126 (Rt. 1/Spotsylvania) and Exit 118 (Thornburg).  Crews will be inspecting the new Route 608 bridge over I-95.  All travel lanes will remain open.  

·          Route 608 bridge over I-95 – Ongoing Construction Project

Monday - The new Route 608 bridge over I-95 will open to traffic on Monday.  Motorists should be alert to the new traffic pattern.

Monday – Wednesday, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.; motorists should expect brief delays on Route 608 as crews remove the temporary signals and add pavement markings at the new bridge over I-95.  Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone. 

Thursday – 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane in each direction on Route 608 at the new bridge over I-95. Crews will be inspecting the structure.

·          Route 639 (Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue -Ongoing Construction Project

Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; crews will begin hanging the new traffic signals on Bragg Road at Willis Way and at River Road. Motorists should be prepared to stop periodically in the work zone.

Monday – Friday; motorists are reminded to be alert to construction crews and equipment working along the shoulder along Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue as work continues on the Bragg Road/Fall Hill Avenue widening project. The estimated completion date for this project is summer 2011.

·          \Spotsylvania Towne Centre Entrance

Motorists are reminded to be alert to changes in the traffic pattern on Route 3 eastbound between Bragg Road and the entrance to the Spotsylvania Towne Centre.  The continuous right turn lane on Rt. 3 east between Bragg Road and the towne centre entrance may be periodically closed to through traffic as well as the right merge lane exiting the towne centre to Rt. 3 east.  To avoid delays Towne Centre patrons should use the entrance located on Bragg Road Extended.  Access to businesses located on Rt. 3 east between Bragg Road and the towne centre will be maintained at all times.

City of Fredericksburg

·          Motorists are reminded that the intersection of Charles Street and Dixon Street in the City of Fredericksburg is temporarily closed to traffic due a major sewer line failure near the intersection.  If traveling south to Rt.2/17 motorists should take Lafayette Blvd. to the Blue/Gray Parkway.  The intersection remains open for traffic traveling north from Rt. 2/17 toward Caroline Street.
