FREDERICKSBURG –.  The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) encourages motorists traveling west on Route 3 in Spotsylvania County to be alert to the milling and paving operation at the I-95 interchange near the entrance to Central Park and the signal work at the Bragg Road intersection.

The following work zones have been set up for this week:

Milling and Paving

Crews are milling and paving on the westbound side of Route 3 from just west of I-95 to just west of  the Spotsylvania Towne Centre.  At various locations motorists will be driving on rough pavement. In addition, motorists traveling int he area should be prepared to be detoured around the work zone at various locations. Motorists exiting Central Park via Carl D. Silver Blvd. may be periodically re-directed to another intersection. Signs, flaggers and local law enforcement will direct motorists through and around the work zone.  Crews will be working from 9:30 p.m. – 5 a.m. each night through Thursday.

Bragg Road Widening Project

Motorists traveling east and westbound on Route 3 in the vicinity of Bragg Road should expect lane closures and delays while crews replace the existing traffic signal structure.  Traffic will be stopped periodically in the work zone.  Virginia State Police and/or Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Department will direct motorists through the work zone. Crews will be working from 10 p.m. – 5 a.m. each night through Thursday.
