FREDERICKSBURG – In response to increased public interest in the Commissioner’s Blueprint Meeting, Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) officials have chosen to hold the March 31 meeting at the Lancaster Middle School in Kilmarnock instead of the Lancaster Public Library. 

The school is located just behind the library at 191 School Street in the Town of Kilmarnock.

This meeting is among the 11 public meetings hosted by VDOT across the commonwealth during March and early April to collect public input on a comprehensive plan to address long-term funding reductions.

During the meeting there will be a brief presentation regarding the proposed changes that will impact drivers in each area including planned reductions to:

·         Rest areas

·         Safety Service Patrols

·         Mowing/roadside maintenance

·         Ferry services

·         VDOT residency offices

Officials will collect feedback from registered speakers during the meeting.  Citizens may also submit comments via e-mail to vdotinfo@vdot.virginia.gov by April 15, 2009.
