Weekly Hot Spots for the Fredericksburg Region
March 15 – 21, 2009
§ Route 17 @ I-95
On Tuesday night motorists traveling north on Route 17 will be intermittently stopped for not more than 15 minutes between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. at the I-95 interchange in Stafford County. Crews will be replacing the bridge beam over the northbound lanes of Route 17. In addition, the ramps from I-95 north to Route 17 north and from Route 17 north to I-95 south, at Exit 133 (Rt. 17/Falmouth) will be closed while the beam is being replaced.
All travel lanes on the interstate will be open to traffic.
Sunday - Thursday, 8 p.m. – 4:30 a.m.; motorists will be restricted to one lane on Rt. 17 at the I-95 interchange. Crews are repairing the structural beams on the I-95 bridge over Rt. 17. Expect brief delays.
§ Interstate 95
Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; motorists should be alert to crews working along the shoulder on I-95 north between Exit 118 (Rt. 606/Thornburg) and Exit 126 (Rt. 1/Spotsylvania). One lane will be closed to traffic.

Construction continues on the Rt. 608 bridge over I-95. Motorists should be alert to construction crews and equipment and changes in traffic patterns in this area.
