(Inclement weather delayed temporary closing)

FREDERICKSBURG— The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will temporarily close Farmwood Road (Rt. 1237) for approximately 30 days beginning Monday, March 1.

This closure was originally scheduled to take place on February 1 but was delayed to due inclement weather.

Crews will be reconstructing Farmwood Road at Route 17 in connection with the Route 17 improvement project at Gloucester Point.

In addition, the southern to Gloucester Point Shopping Center will also be closed to traffic as a result of this work.  Motorists should use the shopping center entrances located off of Route 17.

Phase I of the Route 17 improvement project is expected to be complete this spring.
