MORNING COMMUTERS URGED TO USE CAUTION
(Main roads clear – neighborhood streets may be hazardous)

FREDERICKSBURG (5 a.m.) — Morning commuters will find main roads clear however neighborhood streets may be hazardous. Low temperatures overnight may have also caused treated roads to refreeze, especially on bridges, overpasses and ramps. Motorists should use extreme caution when leaving home.

VDOT crews worked through the night plowing and applying salt, sand and abrasives, for traction, on secondary routes and subdivision streets and monitoring treated roads for black ice.  Residents are reminded that they should not expect to see bare pavement in their neighborhood.

Crews will continue to work throughout the day clearing secondary routes and subdivision streets.

For the latest road conditions, weather, incident information and traffic camera video, drivers should visit www.511Virginia.org.

The following counties are included in the Fredericksburg District:  Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, Caroline, Essex, King William, Westmoreland, Richmond, Northumberland, Lancaster, King and Queen, Middlesex, Gloucester and Mathews.
