Progress continues on the Route 207 project at the I-95 Interchange
(Existing Route 207/652 intersection to close)

FREDERICKSBURG— The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) continues to make progress on the Route 207 project at the I-95/Carmel Church Interchange in Caroline County.

Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 3, VDOT will relocate the existing Route 207/652 intersection.  The new signalized intersection is located just east of the old intersection at the Caroline County Visitors Center.

To access the businesses on the southern end of Route 652, motorists will use the new Route 782 connection from Route 652.

When the project is complete, the old Route 652 intersection will reopen to right turning cars only.  Truckers will continue to use the new Route 652 intersection.

The $5.2 million intersection improvement project is expected to be complete in November 2011.
