DECATUR ROAD ACCESS IN STAFFORD TO CLOSE FOR REPAIRS STARTING MAY 2
Decatur Road Access to be Closed at the Intersection with Widewater Road

FREDERICKSBURG – Decatur Road (Route 635) in Stafford will close for approximately two weeks at the intersection of Widewater Road (Route 611) to allow the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to repair drainage and roadway shoulders.

Decatur Road is expected to be closed at Widewater Road beginning on Monday, May 2. The road is scheduled to re-open to traffic by Monday, May 16.

Message boards have been posted in the vicinity of Decatur Road and Widewater Road, alerting area residents and motorists to the closure and detour route using Brent Point Road (Route 658) and Arkendale Road (Route 633).

Signs will be posted to direct motorists along the recommended detour route.

For southbound motorists, VDOT recommends the following detour route: Widewater Road to Arkendale Road to Brent Point Road.

For northbound motorists, VDOT recommends the following detour route: Brent Point Road to Arkendale Road to Widewater Road.

When complete, this project is expected to improve drainage along Decatur Road.

The project is estimated to cost $150,000. It will be accomplished using state funds.
