FREDERICKSBURG AREA ROADS ARE CLEAR, WET
Bridges, overpasses treated with abrasives as a precaution

FREDERICKSBURG – Drivers will encounter clear, wet roads throughout the Fredericksburg region on Sunday, and no snow accumulation is currently reported on roadways. Roads in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula areas are also wet, but clear of snow.

One to three inches of light snow is forecast to fall throughout the day Sunday in the Fredericksburg region, and one to two inches of snow is forecast for the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula areas. On Sunday morning, snow was accumulating on grass but not on roadways.

As a precaution, crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation have treated some bridges and overpasses with abrasives in the Fredericksburg District.

Yesterday, crews prepared snow removal and road treatment equipment in the Fredericksburg District, and mobilized Saturday evening to monitor roadways for hazardous driving conditions. Limited crews will remain in place until noon today unless conditions change.

Before traveling, motorists can view real-time road conditions and traffic cameras on VDOT’s 24-hour travel information website, www.511Virginia.org. 511Virginia is also available by calling 511 from any telephone in Virginia.
