Single lane closure scheduled for the Robert O. Norris Bridge on Route 3 over the Rappahannock River on Saturday

FREDERICKSBURG – Weather-related repairs have been scheduled Saturday for a containment system beneath the Robert O. Norris Bridge over the Rappahannock River.

A single lane on the bridge will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 30. Traffic will be maintained in both directions, but northbound and southbound vehicles will alternate crossing the bridge in a one-way pattern. Motorists should allow extra travel time to cross the bridge during this road work.

The Robert O. Norris Bridge is on Route 3, connecting Lancaster and Middlesex counties.

Atsalis Brothers Painting Inc., are re-painting the Norris Bridge. A containment system beneath the bridge contains debris created by this project. This system was damaged in recent storms, requiring repairs on Saturday.

Emergency and law enforcement vehicles will be given preference to cross the bridge.
